April is National Autism Awareness Month and the time for everyone to ask,

“What can I do to make a difference?”

Here are some ideas for ways to get involved with C.A.R.E’s mission to raise awareness and funds to help families in our community who are facing autism or a related developmental disability.  If you are already affected by autism, your involvement may bring help and hope to a new family, as they embark upon the journey of education and treatment.

The good news is that EVERYONE can make a difference, here’s how:

·       Wear the ribbon…

The symbol for autism is a puzzle piece, chosen to represent a puzzling disability that continues to baffle researchers today. Contact C.A.R.E to get your ribbon and wear it all month long.

·       Raise funds…

 Encourage your place of business to have a “Jeans Day”, when employees can wear jeans one day when they make a $5 donation to C.A.R.E.

·       Host a fundraiser…

Sponsor C.A.R.E for a day/night or portion of April and donate a percentage of proceeds to a great cause, while doing your part to increase awareness.  Highlight autism facts on flyers, placemats, or menu cards.

·       Get a hair cut…

Yes, it is that easy! Call today to make an appointment at Statements Salon in Lakewood Ranch 941-747-6600. 100% of the proceeds of available services on April 26th from 12-5 will go directly to C.A.R.E’s highly acclaimed Integrated Play Group Program.

·       Spread the word…

Include a fact about autism or the ribbon on your mailers and customer send outs during the month of April.  Be an Ambassador of Autism Awareness.

·       Walk or Run for the cause…

Sign up today to join C.A.R.E on April 18th in Lakewood Ranch, Florida.  E-mail your friends and family to spread awareness and be a part of something BIG!

·       Volunteer…
